The short version
- Your media and show files never leave your Mac. We never upload, scan, or see them.
- The app contacts our licensing partner to activate and check your license, and our website to look for updates.
- Crash reports are off by default and sent only if you turn them on.
- The website uses analytics. In the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google Analytics loads only if you accept it, and anyone can change their choice with Cookie Settings.
- If you give us your email on the download form we send you the Quick Start Guide and occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe any time.
- We don't sell your personal information.
1. Who we are
SimplePlay Pro X is made by MSP Ventures Inc., 3015 SW 20th St., Miami, FL 33145, USA. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us at maheshpatelart@gmail.com.
2. The SimplePlay Pro X app
Your media and projects
Video, audio, images, project files, and settings stay on your Mac. Playback, compositing, and output routing happen entirely on your computer. Features that talk to other devices — NDI, Syphon, OSC, Art-Net, MIDI, DeckLink, and the Bitfocus Companion module — communicate with equipment on your own network or computer, never with us.
License activation and validation
When you activate a license, the app sends your license key and your Mac's computer name (as set in System Settings › General › Sharing) to Lemon Squeezy, our reseller, which returns an activation ID. The computer name is what lets you tell your two activations apart. When a connection is available the app re-checks the license by sending the key and activation ID. Your key and activation are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac. Lemon Squeezy links the activation to your purchase record. If the license can't be checked for 14 days, the app returns to demo mode until it can be.
Update checks
The app periodically downloads a list of available versions from simpleplaypro.com, which is hosted by Vercel. As with any web request, this reveals your IP address and the app's name and version. The app does not send a system profile with update checks, and it doesn't check for or install updates while a show is active.
Crash reports (optional, off by default)
If you turn on Send crash reports — during first launch or in Preferences › General — the app sends crash reports to Google Firebase Crashlytics. A report contains the crash details, your Mac model, macOS version, app version, a random installation identifier created by Firebase, and the app's recent error messages, which can include the names of NDI sources and connected devices. Reports never include your media. Turning the setting off stops collection and deletes any reports that haven't been sent yet. Google keeps crash reports for 90 days.
Logs on your Mac
The app keeps diagnostic logs on your Mac. We only see them if you choose to send them to us, for example with a support request.
3. The website
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use simpleplaypro.com: pages viewed, clicks such as downloads, approximate location, device, and browser. Google Analytics uses cookies.
If you visit from the EU, the rest of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, Google Analytics doesn't load unless you choose Accept on the cookie banner. To decide whether to show the banner, the site asks our host, Vercel, which country your IP address is in; we don't store the answer. Everywhere else, Google Analytics loads by default.
You can change your choice at any time with , also linked at the bottom of the site. Declining removes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can also block Google Analytics with your browser's privacy settings or Google's opt-out add-on.
We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. We don't use analytics data for advertising.
Download form (optional)
If you enter your email on the download form, we use it to send you the Quick Start Guide and occasional product updates and release notes. The address is sent to Resend, which delivers the email, and to Web3Forms, which notifies us of the sign-up. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can reply with "unsubscribe" or write to maheshpatelart@gmail.com. You can download the demo without giving us an email.
Purchases
Licenses are sold by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record: it takes payment, calculates and remits sales tax, and issues your receipt and license key. Lemon Squeezy shares your name, email, country, order details, and license key with us so we can support your license. We never see your full card details. Lemon Squeezy handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.
Support and community
If you email us, we use what you send to help you. Our Discord community is run on Discord's platform under Discord's own privacy policy.
4. Why we use your information
- To provide the license you bought — activation, validation, and support (performing our contract with you).
- To keep the product working and secure — update delivery, preventing license abuse, and understanding website use (our legitimate interests).
- With your consent — crash reports, product-update emails, and, where the law requires consent, analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent any time.
- To meet legal obligations — for example tax and accounting records.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers named above, who process it for us:
- Lemon Squeezy — sales, tax, and licensing
- Google (Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics) — opt-in crash reports and website analytics
- Vercel — website hosting and cookieless analytics
- Resend and Web3Forms — email delivery and sign-up notifications
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business. We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
6. How long we keep it
- Order and license records: for as long as your license is in use, and afterwards as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Email sign-ups: until you unsubscribe.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
- Support emails: as long as needed to help you, and then for a reasonable period in case the issue comes back.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by the providers' contractual safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EU and UK and privacy laws in California and other US states — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict some uses, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email maheshpatelart@gmail.com. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
License credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain, connections to our licensing partner and website use HTTPS, and our providers are chosen for their security practices. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Children
SimplePlay Pro X is professional software and is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll give notice on the website or by email.
